Privacy policy
Your photos stay yours.
Effective September 19, 2026 · Full Circle is made and run by an independent developer, named as the seller on the app's App Store page, who is responsible for the data described here.
- Your photos and the exact places you took them are stored only on your iPhone.
- There's no account, no advertising, and no tracking across other apps or websites.
- The app sends anonymous usage statistics (Google Analytics for Firebase) so we can see which parts of the app work. They never include your photos, your location, or anything you type.
- We don't sell data, and we don't share it with anyone for advertising.
What stays on your iPhone
Photos. Photos you take in Full Circle are saved inside the app on your device. They're not uploaded to us and are not added to your photo library unless you choose to save or share one.
Location and compass heading. Full Circle uses your iPhone's compass to tell you when you're facing the day's direction, and records where each photo was taken so it can mark new places with a ✦ and name the city. The exact coordinates are stored with the photo on your device and are never sent to us.
Your progress. Your months, streaks and ✦ balance live in the app's storage on your device.
Like everything else on your iPhone, this data is included in your device's iCloud or computer backup if you have backups turned on. Those backups are handled by Apple under your Apple account, not by us.
What leaves your iPhone
| What | Sent to | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Usage events — for example that the camera was opened, a photo was kept, or a card was shared — with coarse details such as which day of the month it was. A random ID for this installation of the app. General location (country or region) that Google derives from your IP address. | Google (Google Analytics for Firebase) | To understand how the app is used and improve it. Never your photos, precise location, photo names, exact times, or anything you type. |
| Your device's country, language, time zone and iOS version, when the app checks for updated settings. | Google (Firebase Remote Config) | To update things like the wording and timing of daily reminders without an app update. |
| The coordinates of a photo, when the app shows its place name. | Apple (Apple's geocoding service) | To turn coordinates into a name like "Shibuya, Tokyo". Handled under Apple's privacy policy; we don't receive it. |
The analytics ID isn't linked to your name, email, Apple account or any other identity, and it isn't used to track you across other companies' apps or websites. We don't use advertising identifiers. Google processes this data under its privacy policy, on servers that may be outside your country, including in the United States.
What you share
When you share or save a card, it goes wherever you send it. Cards can show the photo's direction, date and city — never the exact coordinates — and you can turn each of those off before sharing.
Notifications
Daily reminders are scheduled on your device. We don't use push notifications, so there's no notification token to collect.
How long we keep it
Analytics data linked to an installation ID is deleted by Google after at most 14 months: usage events 14 months after they're recorded, and the installation's own profile 14 months after the app was last used. Aggregated reports built from it (totals such as "how many photos were taken this week") contain no installation IDs and may be kept longer. Everything on your device stays until you delete it.
Your choices
- Location, camera and notifications can be turned off at any time in iOS Settings → Full Circle. Without location, photos simply don't get a place or a ✦.
- Deleting the app deletes your photos and progress from the device (keep a backup or save photos you want first) and resets the analytics ID.
- To ask about or delete analytics data associated with your installation, email us — include the approximate date you installed the app, since we don't know who you are.
Children
Full Circle is suitable for all ages and doesn't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will also be mentioned in the app's release notes.
